Making friends with a goose?

Thanks Miss Lydia. It is a beautiful spot here in Blue Mountain. Mostly blueberry country and there are many of us berry farmers out here. Area was settled in 1867(my house was built then), in the picture you can see the former cheese factory and beside that was a Griss Mill. My property here was used for horse shoe making, nail making and a saw mill. Anyways a little history.

I am really intrigued by "sitswithgoose" guy...If I wasn't so far away I would adopt. It is a very nice story of bonding a friendship and it will probably drive me nuts for a while until I know there is a new home for the goose.I will have my eyes glued to the thread for a while doing the wishful thinking and hoping there is a real happy ending to this story.. Yes I am an old softie as well. I feel a lot of the time geese are misunderstood when it comes to aggression and adding a person to their pecking order and accepting that person.

Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy...lol Steve

Great thread! Love both the original poster and bunkyb's stories. The world needs more kind-hearted people like you two.

I enjoyed your story alot and thank you for befriending this goose who sounds like a gander to me, with the head lowered charging, and walking away with head in the air stuff, My gander does all of this. I am surprised this goose has made it this long if he is as you described, most people wouldn't put up with the attitude and would have killed him by now, I wish you would or could help him find a new home, with you if possible of with someone who has geese, it will be inevitable sooner or later something awful will happen to him,he really needs companionship of his own kind. But as you have seen a little TLC has brought him a long way with you. Bless you in your kindness and I am hoping you will take it a step further now and help him find a new SAFE place to live.
I agree Miss L, both on the gender and the hope for a new home for him. It's a wonderful story and I hope the ending turns out as well as the telling. I would say this goose has bonded with you Sitswithgoose and has decided you are his flockmate. It would be wonderful if you could home him as he has already chosen you for his own. Geese are wonderful, smart creatures. They need companionship, be it their own kind or the human element. They aren't hard to care for at all and the payment received for their care is awesome, just look at how he's responding to you just by sitting and spending time with him. It's really hard to have a bad day when you have a goose by your side.

I as well would like to see sitswithgoose either give this goose a home or find a good home for the goose. That goose has really became friends with sitswithgosse! That is a friendship which came about by a concerned person to take the time to sit with that goose. The goose has given his approval totally now.
