Making introductions

Our guineas and the others I’ve seen in person have white skin on their heads rather than blue. I think that the blue skin is so striking and looks more like the wild ancestors of guinea fowl.

The blue is striking, but they grow out of it. At least mine did:/ Has anyone else noticed that with their pear grays?
These are some crappy cell phone pictures of mine from last year.

And now as adults, no blue😔

My adults heads are a very pale blue. I tried to take pictures, but they either come out looking white or they're too much of a moving target.

The keets are definitely a darker blue. Maybe the color just gets bleached by the sun?
Perhaps. Sometimes I think I see a slight hint of blue on my adults, but pictures only show white. So I think I’m just wishing they showed blue still. 😂

20200806_230237.jpg Night, caught him roosting. Got too close and he hissed, then stabbed his beak at me. Or he may have objected to me being so close to the keets - they were all pretty close together. Don't know why he's so bumpy there, or if that's normal...

Keets have nice eye coloring. Their heads are bluer than they look here with my headlight shining in their faces.
