Our guineas and the others I’ve seen in person have white skin on their heads rather than blue. I think that the blue skin is so striking and looks more like the wild ancestors of guinea fowl.Yeah. It seems darker than the adults' blue.

Very cool! Mine never look like that! Pearl gray and other colors only show white skin as juveniles and adults. The blue is striking, but they grow out of it. At least mine did:/ Has anyone else noticed that with their pear grays?
These are some crappy cell phone pictures of mine from last year.

I wonder why some do and some don’t have the blue as juveniles? As far as I know, mine are just run of the mill pearl grays.Very cool! Mine never look like that! Pearl gray and other colors only show white skin as juveniles and adults.
Perhaps. Sometimes I think I see a slight hint of blue on my adults, but pictures only show white. So I think I’m just wishing they showed blue still. My adults heads are a very pale blue. I tried to take pictures, but they either come out looking white or they're too much of a moving target.
The keets are definitely a darker blue. Maybe the color just gets bleached by the sun?
Definitely - nice close up!Maybe I’m not totally crazy..... There is a very small bit of blue. View attachment 2279283
