Im sure someone else has done this. I saw it before with pvc but that stuff is triple the price of drain pipe and fittings.
Anyone interested I will post pics and how to for you.

Sure would love to see the pictures

Good luck!

soo sorry
never got to do this
was building a run that took me longer than i thought it would
now im really sick
maybe i can do it this weekend

this is the feeder my husband made and it works perfectly! We tried making the one where there is a bend in the pipe tried the 60 and 90 degree but none of them flowed properly. This one works so great because no flow issues. The base is just a cap for a 6" pipe screwed to the side. You can use any diff size pipe depending no how much feed you want to be able to fill.

Some times simpler is better, huh?

Might I ask what sort of door you use on your coop? Our current guillotine style door is starting to warp a tad (still slides, but I can already tell it's only a matter of time before)

Love, Love the feeder idea!!!! Takes up very little space in the run! Did your hubby make a similar type for a waterer? Would like to know and see pics if so.

Both of the feeders are great ideas. Does the food stay dry when it rains chicks4myfamily? The one I was given from a friend gets wet when ever it rains. I am going to see how it does this time around sense we added some tarps to the side of the pens. Before never failed I would fills it up a bit and then that night it would rain. The forecast would only be liked 20% chance lol. I will get pics of mine and u will see what I am talking about.
