making my waterer heated?

    I have a 3 gallon waterer and was wondering if there are plans somewhere or anything about making this waterer heated without payin 50 for one already heated thanaks..

    Some have tried a small fish tank heater, but I wouldn't trust the girls to not break it. You could also try one of the bird bath heaters or spinners (to keep the water constantly moving so that it doesn't freeze). It may be worth it to just get one of the base heaters or a heated watering unit. You could always change the water several times a day.

    I have a cinder block with a light bulb inside, then I sit the plastic waterier on top of that.
