Villarrica is a city in southern Chile, at the foot of Villarrica Volcano. It is on the shore of the vast Villarrica Lake. The surrounding landscape is characterized by dramatic mountains and hot springs. Southeast is Villarrica National Park, covered by araucaria forests and crossed by trails. The park is also home to Geométricas Hot Springs. Lago Verde, an emerald lagoon, is in nearby Huerquehue National Park.
