harharhar...better your house than mine!

Okay, I just did the most ingenious thing... I dont remember were I read it... but I bought a pack of training puppy pads at the dollar store and used that for the bedding in my brooder instead of the expensive pellets I usually use and they work great!!!! and save lots of money!!!

And sanitary pads make great wound dressings. When hubby had a second degree burn, I slapped one of those over it, b/c it was the only thing I had big enough to cover the burn. Doc was in stitches when she saw that!

I used puppy pads for awhile, worked pretty good for the first couple days .......
......until the tips of their little toe nails started getting stuck while scratching.
Had one chick flip themselves right over it scratched so hard and toe nails stuck.
It was hilarious but another got stuck and twisted it's little leg trying to get loose, I took them out after that.

I noticed the smell was getting bad faster so I added the shredded wood chips on top of it.. Much better. I was changing it daily and that is just too much work.
