as much as I like striking color variations...she is liking all the slikie pics I have showed her ...I thought the Mille Fluer were really cool....good thing were not in a hurry to decide as my order of BAs should be here today/tomorrow

My daughter loves her D'Uccles in all the variaties that they come in.

Whe evan has some of them trained to jump up on her arm if she raises it in front of her and says up.

Must be a silkie...any color...but I would recommend a white to start. They are incredibly cuddly, love to sit in your lap and coo when you hold them and talk to them. Below is a pic of my soldier daughter...just back from Iraq...holding one of her black silkie hens.

I guess we don't have as much trouble here in florida because we don't have clay. They take dirt baths but the sand falls out of their feathers.

I don't have clay, either, but it's hard to prevent sunburned feathers when you live in the desert.
