I got another serama today. A little pullet from BluegrassSeramas. I am so happy i finally found a pullet, ive looked for months trying to find one close enough. Shes so cute. Her chirps sounds like my sister guinea pig squeaking, its really funny. Ill post pictures tomorrow.

I recently moved my little flocks around and gave everyone new partners. I am proud to say that I set 12 eggs last week and have 10 developing!

Two of those are from my little mottled size A hen, if they make it they will be my first from her. Can I get some good hatching vibes, please....

I got my first 3 hatchlings from one of my Serama hens. They hatched out the same day my micro mini cochin hen's babies did and they are now a week old and probly about 1/3 the size of Mrs Puff's kids....lol. BTW ..Mrs.Puff is just a cochin bantam, but she weighs MAYBE 2 lbs.I have a few OEGB that are heavier,lol.... And she reminds me of the puffer fish off Spongebob when something gets close to her babies...lol....POOf.....

Whiskey, your cochin sounds tooooo cute!!
I think we might need pics of her! lol

Hello all
frow.gif

I am new to this thread.. I have recently purchased a few not so correct seramas, and a treo of straight "B"s.
My hen is laying, so I thought I would give it a shot, and incubate her eggs. Today is the 18 day. From wht I have read here I should have took the tiny eggs out of the turner on the 16 day. Do you think my eggs will still hatch if I stop turning them today??

Is it possible for Serama hens to have a few rooster tail feathers? I have three 8 week old Seramas, and one's definitely a roo, the other I'm pretty sure are roo's too but I'm still hoping.

Are there any other defining features?

Thanks, Gerbil

If they were strong enough to hatch in the first place, probably. I'm not an expert though...

Good luck with your hatch! Sorry I don't have an answer--I don't use the incubator a lot--the last two hatches were under momma.

There are allot of mixed opinions on this topic but from own personal experiences I never stop turning till day 18 and yes they still hatch just fine, normally around day 20 to 21. Good luck and happy hatching!

If you mean the long curved feathers, the answer is "no". At 8 weeks the pullets combs should be almost non-existent, and the cockerel's will begin to show.
