They aren't the easiest sometimes and shipped eggs on top of that, congrats! I have 3 pipped and cheeping right now and a week old chick waiting to be big brother or sister in the brooder.

Congrats smoothmule. Would be so happy to get more than one at a time Hatch. Do you have your own eggs or did you order your eggs? I have only been averaging 1 chick per shipped eggs. But i just hatched 5 out of 6 oeg eggs i have. Going to give them to a friend and get him started>>>>

I need to get new pics of my babies that I hatched from mbrobbins, they are almost 6 weeks old

Most of them are still very tiny, though one of the girls is gonna be a big'en. Most all of them are either black or mottled, mostly black. Though I do have one little cockerel that looks cocopop-ish, he should go nicely with the hens I'm getting from yude33177 on SCNA

I just have 3 pair and one of my hens is a tiny A size and isn't laying right now so I have just been setting a few at a time. The single chick was one of the 2 eggs set then. There are the 3 that are pipped and cheeping good, they should be out by morning. I'll check on them through the night and hope they're out before I leave for work. I'll help if they sound weak from trying so long but in general, I "try" not to help. If they're cheeping loud and still not zipped out but progressing, I'll leave them and worry at work all day

There is about a dozen still in the incubator with the turner and fan that will hatch in 2 or 3 rounds. When they're within a couple days of hatching, I move them to my old incubator that still works but doesn't have a fan or turner and I use it as a hatcher and brooder for a few days then they go into the brooder. I'll definitely have some for sale but not for a few months. I don't "cull" exactly, I will sell my good one's because I figure I can make more but I want to wait till I can tell sex for sure, see how correct they're looking and what size. I know they get better with age but a really long back is going to be a pet and one that is already a C size at that age isn't going to get any smaller so they will have to be pretty darn good type or they also go into the pet category. I should have a really good selection by April and any not sold already will go with me to the show then. I've only had a couple over sized and they were just on the tall end of C size. Most are mist to upper B and some are A's here. June has some really nice and really small little silkieds. I am still working on getting the size along with the type set in mine and knowing who to breed to who. I can't wait till the weather warms a little so Jerry can ship the pair I bought. I have no idea what color or anything but I know they will be terrific. Hoping for the warm up (40's) promised by Monday so he can ship them.
