~MALAYSIAN SERAMA THREAD~ (PICS!!!)

Well you all know how mine are kept, but for the ones that don't .. They live in a rabbit hutch, they sleep in our bedroom at night in a rabbit cage. We take them outside daily. But when we do all they want to do is follow us. My seramas are now 10 weeks old..

Today we let them out in the yard, and also let the big girls out. THAT was the funniest thing I have ever seen.. Truffles, my little roo, would chase all of my 19 week old pullets around. I was worried they would try to peck the seramas, I guess I should have worried about the big girls. And the Great big 19 week old EE roo I have is scared to death of him. After we put the big girls back in their run, Truffles, Lil' Coco, Happy Feet, and Tinkerbell, just follow us around the yard. When it is time to go in, they follow us to the back door.

I found out that very same thing! My gamey mutt birds are afraid of my serama too! When I first introduced the serama to my 2 "goofbirds" they were like WHOA >> yes ma"am! And the 4 month old hpullet out weighs the serama by a gazillion pounds! All 3 birds are great friends now as you can see.....

I thought I'd share my girls. They are my first Seramas ever....I got the eggs from Pamperedpoultry. She sent 4 Serama eggs as a bonus; 3 of them hatched last January - all pullets.


This is Reese and Alida. Alida was the first chick out of 27 eggs to hatch. She went from egg to egg to egg till every single one of them hatched. It was amazing to see. These are the two that live with my big girls during the nice months. They pretty much rule the roost not to mention are best friends

When Reese went broody over the summer, Alida was heartbroken, walking around the yard sulking and wanting to be held constantly. Now they are back together again in the garage and both on the verge of going broody together!

This is a baby picture of Ainslee with her Silkie Momma and Barred OEGB brother Morty (he passed away over the summer). She's spoiled rotten and makes sure everyone in the house knows it!

And one of her taken last night. She was rather put out by the whole photo thing, lol

I'm sitting here tonight prowling BYC for funsies and my seramas are purring on my lap.....I thought I would share with you all. Sara is 3 months and Beep is 15 days. They are just my house pets, and GAWD are they spoiled!!!

My 2 serama's also stay in. They will go out when it gets warm so they can enjoy the fresh air and id like to make a tractor for them.

hi all my little roo just started to crow about 2 to 3 weeks ago. so my question is do they slow down on how often they crow and do they get louder as they get older? he is 3 months old, about. thanks

I'm interested in what others have to say about their roos crowing too. I'm planning on keeping a roo or two from my hatches but at the same time I'm concerned about how loud they are. Everyone I've asked has always told me they are much quieter than even bantam roosters - I'm hoping that truly is the case since these little guys will live inside!

I don't know about quiet, mine can crow pretty good with the bigger boys.. Had a 6 month old cockerel in the laundry room for quarantine for awhile and it is definitely NOT something I would want to listen to all the time in the house. JMO
