First of all, I want you to know that am not a pro.....everything I am telling you is base on my daily observation of my birds in the past 2 yrs. I believe I told you in my last respond that this guy https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/58397_118.jpg looks like he has more potential than the blk one. Due to the picture of him did not show much of his back, I was hesitating when wrote it.

I am sorry, I went back and realized you did indeed tell me that! As for you not being a pro, lol, any experience beyond 3 months is more then me. The lady I got the eggs from is really nice and very knowledgeable about Seramas, as well as the Silkies she breeds, and before I made my final decision I would talk to her, I was just wanting all of you opinions also. I really appreciate that you took the time to give me the advice you did!

Sorry the photo is rotated; I can't figure out why my uploads get rotated when they're not that way before I upload them.

But this is, so far, the tiniest of the eleven hatchlings. It is also a rescue. It pipped through the yolk and I assume it would tragically drown. But after it stopped oozing for an hour or so, I pulled it out and helped extract it. It's strong and loud now. Hardy bird!

So very cute and congrats on a successful help! I'm hoping I won't have to help any of my 19 hatching this weekend, but I never hesitate to step in if I have to.

Here is one of my more recent Serama chicks. Any guesses at the color or sex? It's nearly 2 months old, the comb is much redder than I would expect from a pullet but I've never had a cockerel that wasn't trying to crow and act like a lil rooster at just a month old. Plus, this one squats like a pullet when I pet it and it has the personality of a pullet. I've just never seen a pullet with such a dark comb or so large at this age.

No idea on the color but definitely a roo - in my opinion. My Zephyr is two months old and his comb looks just like that. He started trying to crow today...too funny!

Love the color!
