Okay, I posted this on my local thread too, but I am continually amazed at my little birdie. Its amazing, really.

Here is Jessica (dd) and Hedwig (Serama) watching television together. The bird was totally at ease. Jessica was just stroking her belly before the pic was taken, she was not being held down at all.

So seriously, are MOST Seramas like this?? or do I have an exceptional one? She is my first.

She's a cutie and yep, most are if they're handled a lot. I have a cockerel that thinks he has to fly up to sit on my shoulder every afternoon to rub his comb on my ear and preen my hair. He now has his two sisters wanting out and they also fly up too but one usually sits in my lap and talks to me. They really make great pets!!

I think she is fixing to win. All mine have been raised from eggs and they are all have sweet dispositions

Hi all you Serama pros,
Can you tell me if a Serama's egg song is typically as loud as a standard. I understand that the volume is dependent on each individual girls personality, but as a general rule are they a little quieter?

I don't think it's so much that they are quiter (I've got some OEGB that can really get going when they lay eggs!

), I think it's more of a 'pitch' thing. Obviously, a small hen doesn't have the same pitch to her song as a large hen but they can be just as loud. The little roosters are veeeery loud and their high-pitched crows make them that much more unnerving...but they're so cute, so they can get away with it
