I did a float test and I saw no movement so I opened it and there was a dead fully formed baby in it, What would have caused him to die?

Possibly not enough humidity, would cause the chick to die, could not pip!! it is such a balance hard to replicate momma hen, the hardest part is to leave them alone while they are in the last stages, opening and closing the incubater really messes with the humidity... I use a humidair 20 where i fill the water from the top and dont even open my incubator and turnes the eggs twice a day , works super well. I actually have a super talented friend that is making my friends replicated models of my incubater for the hatching impaired.... Sorry to hear about your loss..

My concern this morning is that I am worried about the chick that hatched
on day 19 ( tues).........it is screaming it's little head off.I have 6 more born yesterday and this morning...........
Is that chick born first really going to be OK?
I still have 15 eggs in the incubator and know I will likely shrink wrap them
if I open the incubator........grrrrrrrrrr

My humidity is running about 68 .temp dropped last night to 96....on it's way up now..............
I have quite a color difference this time, a black and a white..the rest little chipmonks..........
