That little pullet I raised came out of a pumpkin roo and a wheaton hen she is wheaton mottled! I think the pumpkin colors carry a strong mottling gene!

Here's my serama chicks that hatched this last weekend. This breed is new to me, I can't keep rooster in the city, but I figured who'd know with a couple serama roo's in the house.

It is ok for a few generation but usually on your 3rd gen. you must add a smooth to get the feather quality back!

My straight pair suddenly began putting out lots of Silkied. 3 in the last clutch alone.

I shall call you "Fluffy".

A coon burrowed under the cage and got the roo so I have just paired her with one of her earlier Silkied sons and she's laying again.
(I have since added underground barriers or wire bottoms to all enclosures.)

I've also just read that the tails of Silkied Serama grow in very slowly, which is encouraging news about my 7 month old male.

Here is 3 month old (hatched Feb. 10) silkied cockerel. Strongly line bred several generations. He weighs 9.5 oz.
