He's sweet to the girls and surprisingly not rough when he tries to mount them, they squawk of course, but it's nothing like our lil Frizzle Cochin chasing EVERY pullet all over the yard grabbing them and trying to mate on the run lol. DaVinci just grabs them and mounts they move and he falls off and thats it. He'll go off and do his thing (usually try and sleep). The pullets have a problem with letting him sleep at all. He's supposed to pay attn to them at ALL times lol So now he naps with Ellen

We have not gotten the chance to weigh him but he's not much of a hand full of rotten baby,

Would love to hear anyone's opinion on Typey, comformation or colors.

I need to correct where I had posted before that their parent birds were from Bluegrass Seramas, they are actually from a hatch that Ugly Ducky had incubated and had gotten her eggs from Fancyfeet, and some from Buck Creek Chickens.

Bluegrass, I'd spoke to you yesterday via email, right after reading yours I read one from Gloria and found that I was incorrect about where she had gotten her breeding stock from. The pic's above your post ^ are our Seramas, although the lil pullets are not 'posing' thats them!! I would love to get your opinion on them as we would like to eventually (hopefully) have them as well as some of your birds as some of our foundation breeding stock. Please be honest, we'd rather be hurt by the truth than breed and be hurt by the outcome.. Either way these are not only our 'hopeful' start, but they are our 'babies' as you can tell by the pic' of DaVinci napping with his momma lol

That's ok! lol I was glad to hear from you either way!
I like the look of the pullets, and Sandy I like the best. The cockerel looks pretty good too, but they are still young and have some more growing up to do. It sometimes hard to tell from pics, or get good pics of young birds. Trust me, I have spent a lot of time trying to get a young bird to hold still and pose in a profile picture. Its really hard, and takes a lot of time.
Some can be exceptional at this age, but I think you have a good start. I like the colors of the pullets.

If I were you, I would keep taking pics and give them a few more months to develop. Then you can look back later and see
how and if they have improved and grown. Either way, they look super sweet and I like them.
Just keep updating us with pics every few weeks and we can all watch them grow.

I really like the color of that white/ spotted in the background!! Gorgeous!!! hmmmm...maybe I need to make a trip to FL and see my mom

For the longest time I was SURE the white mottled one was a hen, now im not so sure, still acts like a hen but the comb and waddles are bigger then Id expect at this age. guess time will tell for sure. I have 4 roosters from this round of hatching for sure the Buff columbian colored one is a hen, but the white one has me totally confused, when it was hatched it was a solid chocolate color, i was suprised at how it feathered out.

We are so addicted to the Seramas now, we want to hatch some eggs and get some breeder birds as well. I can see how ppl can easily go overboard on how many Seramas they have lol I'm going to have to build a pen for ours to lounge in during nice days and come back in during the evening and bad weather days.
I'm looking and reading everywhere to find tips and tricks of hatching (seems some do wonderful hatches and some have a really hard time).
Both of our pullets are sweet, Mandy is more timid and Sandy can have a bit of attitude when you pet her on her breast she wants to bite at ya. Trying to break her of the biting (I figure if we keep petting her while she's biting she might realize we are not trying to hurt her or what ever she thinks we are doing lol) I HAVE to get somethin to weigh them on, they feel like just fluff and air lol
