I agree with you there! I have seramas that aren't at all partial to who's eggs they are on. In fact I have had them steal cochin and brahma eggs, needless to say when they hatched I was a bit confused! I have also had no luck with getting the eggs to hatch in the incubator but I have an excellent hatch rate under the hens.

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

How Much do Seramas weigh?
I would like a picture of a full grown serama in someone's hand. ( My mom wants to know all this!

Nelly is on the high end, around 15 oz.

Cannonball is around the same size. The weights are listed in the SOP, here: http://www.scnaonline.org/standards-and-judging.html

You are welcome! It was so nice to visit with you and chat your ear off, lol

I think it was this pullet.. that was the red-on-tail marked one?
Her dad was Typhon, who is now owned by Gen (lonestargame) in Texas.. and your little girl now has some tiny half-siblings in another state!
I think its so neat to have a big "family" like we have!

(You can see the babies above!)

There are so many lovely little birds on this thread! I like that one, and that one, and that one . . . so much so, I went off the deep end again!

I have been impatiently waiting to post this, and finally I can. I am now the owner of a pair of lovely little Seramas, thanks to Nancy Perry of Mainely Seramas. They just arrived today. I have been on pins and needles about them shipping at this time of year, but I guess if anything can take the heat, a Serama can!

I took pictures of them after they arrived, but I think it a touch disrespectful of the rooster to show him looking like he does right now. Nancy had told me that he was molting, and boy, is he ever! His tail is almost entirely missing (but I can see it is growing back already, so it won't be long before he's his usual handsome self). I hope she won't mind me "borrowing" them, these are the pictures of them that she used in the auction:
