did you breed chocolate chip? her color is so vibrant! i love her

I love her too! Hopefully she will do well at a show!

I think she has some chicks somewhere. I'd have to ask Patrick about her breeding records. She was hatched early this spring and lays. I have some of her siblings, but I think I sold the two that were similar to her in color. (Congrats Jim and Phil! ) Or they could have been her siblings.. Id have to look. Too many birds here for just one person, and we just moved most of the adult breeders to MY house because Patrick is raising 90 chicks from 2 months and under... Who wants some birds? Please, just come on by and bring a box. Will trade for chicken feed, lol

Hey Jessi,

Thanks for all of the info and the critique of the birds. It helps us beginners to learn.

I have a cockerel that has some similar flaws to those in the pictures. I'm going to re-home him as a pet. Luckily I got a more promising cockerel recently, who looks much closer to the standard. I'll try get some photos for public comment/critique as well. I think it helps us all to learn.

I'm wondering if I don't have a micro-frizzle from you. One is growing steadily, and the other has pretty much stopped. She seems well, and has good muscle tone. Of course she's a bit younger as well. I believe it had red dye as well, and was one of your last hatches from Typhon. I'll try to do a photo shoot of everyone this weekend.

Anyway, I have a whole bunch of folks interested in Seramas in the Philadelphia area now. I'll make sure I keep visiting you when I'm in KY to add to the flock!

Oh gosh, Caramel on drugs is too funny!

What a silly bird!

I have new serama chicks! Six of them, to be exact.
big_smile.png
Three are from my broody hen and are four or so days old, and three are from incubated eggs and just about two days old. (The dark chick is not a serama, it's some sort of mystery bantam chick that someone rescued and called my wildlife rehab group about. My broody hen's chicks had just hatched that day, so mama took this little one under her wing as well!)

Here's my whole group of chicks, including the three my broody hatched and the mystery rescue bantam chick!

Are they cute or WHAT?

The three I got out of the incubator:

And I hate to be so biased, but I think this might be the prettiest chick I've ever hatched! It has a thin white collar, black on the back, and sort of bluish hues in additional to that GORGEOUS chocolate color! Totally tiny, too.

I love chocolate chip, she reminds me of my Chloe, they could almost be twins!

Chloe is small to, coming in a very small A. She just raised a couple of chicks but I don't believe they were from here eggs?? She lays the tiniest eggs of all my hens. I'm hoping to put her with my typiest rooster and see what happens.

Who I want to pair her with:
