My next youngest is nearly two years old. And I think I may have too many chickens haha. Little orange guy with no name is sleeping on my legs peacefully his first night in his new home. It definitely boosts my cheer
Do you suppose the cochins will set as well and as often as Silkies? I'm planning to get a couple hens that will be my broodies. I even have a nursery (nesting sites) already set up for them in my new shed for my Serama's. They will have their own little spots, quiet, and safe. Those are gorgeous cochins!
I Luv kitties. We just have one, Bob, a white manx with the pinkest nose and paw pads ever. With some longer ears, he would easily pass for the Easter Bunny,
Best of luck with all of you that are hatching. Mine stopped laying when I moved them and it's been a little chaotic with finishing fixing up the shed so they're just not settled in I guess. I may wait to hatch some till I can get a little bantam hen to see if she will go broody for me. My best hatches have been started under a broody Serama then I finished with hatching in the incubator so I could spoil the chicks.
The weather here was beautiful today so I was out all day. I took a few of my Serama's out enjoying the sunshine in their new yard today. Here is Tyranasaurus Rooster (aka T-Roo).
Here's his brother - Blu-T
And she's all ruffled up and dirty from breeding but here is my little A girl, Dovey. She would Not get out from in front of the camera when I was trying to take pics of the boys.
Well, here are the new additions: All eight made it, a few golds, one blue, one mix w/some blue, and three super teeny ones from my little A hen, a mocha, a silver and a white silver. I just love this little rainbow group!!
