He's handsome!

I have a barred cock with some red leakage in with some wheaten-y hens right now. I wonder if I'll come out with something similar to him... Actually I have their eggs in the incubator. Time will tell!

Congrats Juliette! I got a tiny tiny Serama to hatch yesterday. Magellan may be the daddy. I have another dozen or so eggs of his in the incubator now. He's with 2 black pullets, and a patterned chocolate one from Jerry... Time will tell!

Well, good for you, Bailey! I have one black baby, in the pic, hatch from my chocolate boy, Cadbury, and have 6 more due for Christmas. He's been with 2 black silkied girls, so I'm REALLY curious to see how they turn out!

Juliette

What a little sweetheart!

I got a pair and an extra roo from Jerry today and he sent over a dozen eggs to try to hatch so they're going in the incubator tonight. A couple were smushed when they arrived but the others look fine. I'll give them another going over before I put them in. I'm letting them settle this evening and get to room temp. I have 4 chicks right now and a couple more due to hatch tonight or tomorrow and I can't wait.

The pair I got today from Jerry's are show quality, I'll be showing them in April at the SCNA show in Cape Girardeau, Mo. and I'm so proud of these guys! They're awesome! The spare rooster he sent is barred so I'm looking for a really nice B size black hen now. I may wait till the show and see what I find there. I go in at 6 am and if there aren't too many surgeries tomorrow, I'll take some pics of the new ones or else I'll take some Thursday..... I LOVE them! Wish me luck in hatching some of these eggs

Here are my chicks I hatched recently, the one with the most tail is a week older than the other 3

If you find a secret stash of black pullets, you let me and Juliette know. I'm feeling lucky to have the two I have right now!

Philadelphia, I will be going to the show in April so if I haven't found any by then I hope to find a breeder or some for sale there. I'm going to need a pullet for this barred rooster from Jerry's unless I find a barred pullet. I know he had a bunch hatch out this year. I'd still like to have a black pullet anyway. June in Oklahoma has black silkied Serama's. She had some at Shawnee at the APA Nationals. Her Serama's are very nice typey birds and small. If you don't mind having a silkied gene, she might have something you would like. Bred to a straight feathered, none of the chicks would be silkied unless yours also carried a silkied gene. It would be a way to get some solid blacks though.

Juliette,
Did you keep a Chocolate??

If I could find you a super nice, black pullet, would you let me trade her to you for a cockerel chick out of a chocolate cross? Even a split rooster would be nice to have.
