Most of the birds (all?) on this thread are American Serama, I haven't seen any that are noticeably malaysian.

What are the physical noticeable differences between Anerican and Malaysian seramas? Is there such a thing as an American? Dont they all come from Malaysian stock?

This is the link to the SCNA website's description of a Malaysian Serama: http://www.scnaonline.org/standards-and-judging/malaysian-serama-standard-draft.html

I posted another link on that post with pictures of Malaysian Serama. Check them out, they are very different in appearance.

Gerbil,
I think your rooster is pretty. Just because he might not be a show bird doesn't mean he is not a pretty chicken.
In what way is he mean? Mean to other roosters, to hens or to people? Is he used to being around people or did he come from someplace where he had never been handled til you got him?
If he is new to you, he may just need time to calm down. Chickens get stressed over changes just like people.
But if he is overly agressive to people or the other chickens and is not new to you, then no he should not be bred.

History on Mr. Booger,
He and his brother were raised and hatched by me, lucky hatch, all roos!

Grr, anyways, I handled them daily and they were super friendly up until about a month ago. He turned mean, not really to the hens(Silkes), but to me and his bro's. I separated everyone and besides biting and attacking people when we try to feed/water him, he's fine.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Anywho, the main reason I'm trying find out is because I want a good pair. Should I stick with him and get a good hen or just get a new pair?

(Err, don't have a scale.... Is there anyway to get an estimate on his weight?)

Probably a no on the weight estimate, just sneak him in to walmart and use their fruit scales

I would personally get a different pair, you don't want a serama that is aggressive to people.
