Yep! Zephyr has a sibling - Dionysus - Dina or Dino if it is a rooster. Lol my daughter picks the names from her college syllabus

This is the little one taken just a little while ago - drying off quite nicely. It is not as rambunctious as Zephyr was, took its own sweet time coming out of the egg and is lounging about. I hope that is not a bad sign. It's been a long time since I've hatched babies.

And the second one is Zephyr, who isn't spoiled at all. Nope. No way, no how

We take "chick naps" together in my retreat room where I just set up its cage. I guess it is our retreat room now! As my daughter said, we have nice chickens, all handled and very friendly - even our other house chickens are nice, but this one is just different. It doesn't think its a chicken lol. My husband just shakes his head and keeps saying "this is bad, really really bad"

ha ha ha ha ha. Lucky chicks.

I'll admit I like these little guys more than any other chicks I've had. But we don't nap together. yet.

I was worried about that with Zephyr but like I said, this chick is totally different. Pipped and zipped in less than 3 hours and literally has not stopped since. It isn't following any of the "chick rules" I have always followed about heat, handling etc lol. It doesn't even care for the light/heat other than to sunbathe. It wants to be out of the cage and on the go all the time! It isn't even 2 weeks old yet. This is going to be bad....

Oh boy, you aren't kidding....I had a chick like that, with me almost 24/7. I do believe she thought she was a human. I lost her at 2 months old, but I will cherish the short time we did have together. Cheepie was the bomb!

That just really sucks.

I have one that used to love to get in my shirt via the neck hole. She would turn around and stick her head out... Wish she could still do that.. she is a big serama class C

HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!!!!

OMG, the pics of ZooMummzy and Froggie with their babies are too cute!
I cant wait to start hatching!!
My blue laced birds have been laying, and I think Im going to add a nest soon and let them hatch their own.

This winter has been terrible. Its sooo unseasonably cold here. Im ready for spring! I miss GREEN!
School starts again for me tomorrow after a busy holiday break. I hope to have time to keep checking in and keeping up with all the new arrivals,
but with some tough full time classes, I may need you all to wish me luck for any free time.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday, and wishing you all the best for the New Year!
