Bailey,

Will do! I'm still trying to sort out what exactly I may have on my hands at the moment. Once I know for sure, I'll know how to best approach getting some more or less solid chocolates. I should have some chocolate based cockerels for sure, but there would be other patterning going on.

My brown ones now may or may not be true chocolate. I have my suspected split roo with some black pullets now. If I get any chocolate pullets out of that mating, I'll know he's split. And then I will pair him solely with my confirmed chocolate pullet and hatch EVERY egg they lay.

If I can get them to hatch, I will likely have some spare black cockerels that will be split for chocolate by summer time. When bred to black pullets they would produce approximately 1/2 chocolate pullets, which could then be bred back to their father to produce chocolate birds in both sexes.

I'm still new to this all too, so it's a fun learning process.

Hi all, I happened to get a Serama Roo this weekend, he is the cutest little thing, he constantly has his mouth going and just gripes up a storm! its almost like he is talking to himself. Anyway he is not to tame yet but working on that, can you guys tell me what color you would call this?

Thank You! he is out in a large crate with the orp girls in the run, the orp rooster having went to a new home last night. Larry thinks he is all that and more, just chortling away trying to charm those giant fluffy girls lol.
His dad was a cocopop, very much like the one on your serama pic page, about a 1/3 of the way down above (or below I cant remember) a smooth white roo and a frizzle you have pictured, there is a cocopop that is the exact same color and pattern as the dad to this one. I dont know what color the mom was, mostly white with some spots and silkied.

oh yes, he was a gift from a very good friend

he barely reaches the fluff on the orps!!

He was a gift?!?! what nice friends you have....... I have a A size Serama and a bunch of Bantam sized hens and the size difference is almost silly. How much does the BO weigh?? AND that hen thinks she is "Mr. BIG STUFF" out in the run. hee hee

I am not sure how much the orp pullets weigh, they are huge though, havent even started laying yet!! He spent the day out there trying to sweet talk them through the crate. I think they think he is amusing lol. Now he is in the house griping at me for bringing him in.
really close to the blue salmon isnt he!
