On your website you said that almost all Seramas are Malaysians that derived from your initial importation...?
I feel bad for that bird
the more I look at different birds it looks like some have seabright some have OEG and some have lots of chabo ( Japanese) in them depends on which one you are looking at some are not typey at all might be just me but after read the sop for seramas and a little at the SCNA website at lot shown as seramas do not look like what the standard calls for JMHO
There are two differerent and seperate standards for the Serama, the American and the Malaysian. The Cajun Class and Serama International, Friday and Saturday April 8 & 9 in Louisiana will feature table top judging of both types.. The serama got off to a bad start, In order to cash in on the name and dollars, scrupulous individuals bought cocks only and crossed these with Old English and Japanese and passed these half breeds as pure serama. This is why we see so many bad typed, serama out there, not even remotely resembling the real thing. Before spending tons of dollars on what you may think is a serama, do a bit of homework visit www.scnaonline.org and learn what a real serama should look like. On the message board you will find over 50,000 post submitted by over 600 members, 80% of these posts are serama related. Thousands and thousands of photos of serama are posted there to allow for a quick comparison to what you may have.We have sections on genetics, housing, diseases, incubating and hatching feeding, color projects, coming shows, show resuts, and virtual judging where all members can submit a score and compare that score to other members scores along with the judges, This is a great learning tool for those interested in the serama
