That sucks!!!!! What about your dad???? Just keep your best unrelated pair for him to raise for you, a pair is all you need to restart your flock if you do line breeding.

FYI,
In all show birds breeding, you suppose to breed for type first then size and the last thing is to correct the color. As for serama, its not alway small size birds will produce small offsprings. I have seen small birds produce large offspring and visa versa, if you ask all the experience breeders they will tell you the same thing.

i know that is what i was telling gumbii today breed for type then size then color thats always what i been doing since i got into seramas

Ray, I'm so sorry to hear about the rooster not making it in the mail. That is really sad and disappointing! That's why I only do eggs through the mail. I got my butterscotch call duck pair through the mail, but I'm never having birds mailed again because it was so nerve-wracking and I've heard too many horror stories.

At least if eggs get messed up it's just eggs.

Definitely, we'll keep thinking about our breeding project and working on it! I'm so excited to see how all these chicks turn out, they're too darn cute! I'm not going to even guess on colors until they're about six months old, though. You're welcome to come and see them any time, though.
