Above is 5th generation from almost nothing. I acquired a poorly barred cockerel from someone who was getting out of serama, may even have been an old english/serama cross. That bird was mated to a black serama hen and produced several chicks one a cockeral who's barring was better than dad. Mated him to a black hen and got several pullets who I mated back to the dad, selecting the better barred birds and again mated to black. Above birds is from a brother/sister mating, both barred

Thanks for sharing Jerry!!!! Your words means alot.

Kate, good questions!!! I hope this will clear up all the arguments we had with one on how to get a variety to breed true.

My bad! Just thought I would post pictures because people asked for them.

I still like them thank you for sharing very nice pick up Love those silkies ...

sigh...

i no one said to only put up pictures of amazing show quality serama at their best pose... kate just mentioned it to ken, since he's trying to be a breeder and prove that his seramas are top notch... i agreed because i want to compete/show and sell high quality OEGB, shamo and i guess now serama... sometimes a bad picture sends out the wrong message or gets judge negativly (is that a word?) and it ends up hurting the breeder... i know i'm not at that level right now, but i would want to and hope to be there soon...

i'm sure jerry up there took about 40 pictures of that cuckoo roo and only posted up them couple of pics... well, i'm just sayin'... i have a hard time taking good pictures of my chickens... but i guess seramas are easier to take pics of because they pose... but still... i'm sure he wouldn't want to put a picture of an amazing cockerel that is not showing good type in the picture...

meh... whatev'skeez...

carry on...
