I couldn't get them to stay in a bunch so this isn't all of them and some were hatched last hatch.

AND!! Another chocolate! This one is also Truffles chick. I watched it hatch so I know it was hers but it may be Blu-T's chick instead of T-Roo this time. I had moved Truffles in with Blu on June 21st and this egg was set July 2, none of her eggs were more than 4 days old before I set them. If it's really Blu's chick, he's also a chocolate carrier....

Sorry for the nerdiness.... but I just had to do some math tonight... I've been having withdrawals since the school year ended in June, and I'm on homeschooling hiatus for the summer.

I had 10 chicks hatch on or about 13 days ago, there is at most a 30 hour difference on hatching times between the 10. My largest Serama hatched first, the second Serama was close behind along with one OEGB, then there was 6-8 hours before the rest of the OEGB started hatching, my smallest Serama hatched second to last out of all of them.

7 OEGB's, and 3 Seramas. Both breeds are quite small when they finish. Here's a comparison of chick size at 13 days

OEGB 1- 54g
2- 56g
3- 56g
4- 65g
5- 47g
6- 54g
7- 57g

Serama 1- 39g
2- 34g
3- 24g

Average OEGB is 56g, more than twice the size of my smallest serama, and 30% larger than my biggest serama! I found it interesting...

Hopefully I didn't bore the rest of you!

nice job on the chocolate

WHEATON can only be wheaton if its a yellow chick at hatch....im not gonna say it again ive said it several times...dont mislead people who are unsure themselves.

that said hi all hope all is well.

here the broody is still broody and the eggs are still incubating.

i sat down made a chart of my birds what lines they are and who they came from and have decided to set pairs up in a certain manner.

so i cleaned cages which took me an hour thanks to the awesome coop design i have and the pull out pans in them (nope birds are not on wire)

after finishing i moved birds around and am gonna rotate roosters between hens to see what im actually getting out of the sets as they hatch....that way i can tell who are good matches and who arent

i even moved pullets around that havent laid yet but should do so soon to have things ready.

IM EXCITED to see what future brings....and in incu i have blue eggs i cant wait to grow em out....again if anything hatches
