iI am not an expert but I dont see how it can hurt to add a few more females now if the mom and babbies are separate anyway.

Their is better times of the year to introduce Hens to Drakes......Not during breeding season...Unless your a breeder and either don't care or pull the Drakes out to give the girls a rest?...

I did not know that but I added 4 more female a few weeks ago to help with the male to female ratio did not see them bothering the new ones much at all. I guess it depends on the individual ducks as well maybe.

I only keep a personal flock and I've got my breeding done for the year. Normally all of my ducks free range on my acreage. But this year I started expanding because of how useful they are keeping down pests.
In the end I'm looking to get about a dozen ducks, so right now I'm open to getting a few more still. I have 7 right now.
But I would rather do everything as safely as possible.

Ok so I've been trying to keep my females seperate with my male and it's just not working. The ladies are escape artists and the ducklings hurt themselves trying to get to the moms.
So I guess my next step is trying to introduce a few more females. Is this advisable? IF I get a couple more, they would be with the male, and separate from the others for a few months.
Can anyone give me some pros or cons?
