Male and female Phoenix?

Huh. Very odd.

Well I'm positive she's a "she". Can't explain the weird saddles or lack of laying. Though I'm not terribly familiar with Phoenix maturity rate.
Like I said, I'm not sure if she's laying. I don't keep much track of laying rate with the flock she's in. I have birds that lay the same size eggs she should be laying, including her and get between 1 and 3 eggs a day.

She's still a pretty bird, and I do plan to have her bred to an unrelated male since she is rather related bloodwise.

She is a hen. No damaged ovary. Good quality hens of long tailed breeds occasionally develop pointed feathers. It has something to do with the genes involved in making the long tails. Here’s an example (NOT my picture):

Oh, yes! She looks a lot like her. Thanks!

She is definitely a hen, went broody a few days ago so we'll see if she's any better than her half sisters when it comes to brooding.

THANK YOU! I could have sworn I'd read that somewhere but couldn't quite remember. Didn't want to say anything without a source.
