Male Duck killed my injured duck by trying to breed her as her neck is broken

I am broken hearted she died in my arms and I know she knew I was there she had a lot of personality for sure. I really adore Nolan but I can not have him hurting anyone so I will be watching and making a decision soon. I will not let him hurt anyone again so they are all separated unless I am right there. Thank you and it is a bummer and I know it is part of animals.... I have one mean chicken who I have kept separate too sooo it makes me wonder !!!!

Where do you live I could take him? I have 4 Pekings 2 drakes and 2 ladies. My 2 will keep him in check and they don't mate the girls either! I've seen 1 try a chicken tho. Very sorry about Daffodil.

So sorry for your loss, as hard as it is I for one am glad you were holding her as she passed - would have been comforting to her. I hope it works out for you with your drake - it is nature and is hard for us not to look at things through human eyes, but you are right to protect the rest of your flock

In Idaho but we have put him to rest he really was beginning to go after everyone and everything.... but thank you we had our vet put him to sleep as kindly as possible.

Pansy the peeper male from our very mean male has been just great so relieved we made sure no one hatched any more babies as I am so thankful he is a gentle soul.
