Oh.... I was loooking at the white feathers for the black tips.. thanks.. will have to look again. I got pictures, but just haven't got them posted.

could he not be showing it because he is the only turkey I have? Maybe if there is a female around he will "bloom" Plus... I really think he/she believes he is a guinea.

I'm new to this too and am looking everyday for signs of gender amongst our five poults. They are probably around 12 weeks old now and growing quickly.

Two are bigger than two of the others. Their stubby new snoods are already longer. They show leadership qualities. They spar with each other, rushing in circles and pushing with their chests. They show a different behaviour towards the two small ones who are usually quieter, sometimes approaching with their wing feathers spread.

The fifth bird is of a size between the others and I can't make up my mind yet about its gender. Sometimes he's the same as the 'boys' and at other times the same as the 'girls'. Perhaps he/she is also undecided!

I still have that young tom. He was strutting and gobbling right along with the big toms today. Cape Girardeau tommorrow or Friday?

There is no way I can get there. I am working a double both days and part of the weekend too. Thanks tho. That is just to far for me to go. It is over two hours, closer to three I think. Appreciate the offer tho.

He will be safe here.. unless he gets in the road like he did yesterday.that scared me. Him and all the guineas strolling down the highway..

get a 5 gal plastic bucket flip over beat like a drum with a stick or your palm ( I also sing) the deep pitch will cause a young jake to gobble and strut boom, boom, boom, I also dance, it looks silly as hell and the kids roar, my wife hangs her head, but it works better than anything I have found so far!!! and it works. hey ,hey not a word till you try it!!!! the dancing and singing are for fun, lots of people join right in ! tom!!!!!
