My rooster I thought was a hen did not crow until 7-8 months

Is it because of the red tones in his feathers

Pink comb already and that bit of dark, rusty red just starting to come in on the shoulder/wing.

I just read the other day on here that males get that reddish on their wings, I was hoping not but it is what it is
