Male or female quail?

Hi everyone

I am new to having quail, I have 4 that are around 6-8 wks old, did have 5 but one died for some reason. Anyway I'm wondering if I have a roo or not, I'm thinking the one that died might have been, I would hear a different sound that I'm not really hearing anymore. I did get 3 eggs today, which was cool! I'll post the pics I have & maybe someone will be able to tell. Thanks!

Thats a female quail. The males have a black "beard" and are brighter colored.

i thought it looked like a male, as females has spotted chest and male brown.
have a look on the sticky tread at the top of the forum, it shows you what to look out for.
i am still not sure on my silver and cream birds so hard to tell.

I think it's a beautiful male Italian quail I have limited experiences with them but it really does remind me of what I've seen just with better colors - the females look different to me , like they have slimmer heads and they're paler, are your other quail Italian as well?
