Male or female question?

These ducklings are 8 and1/2 weeks old. The markings look as though 3 are male. The drake that fathered them is a pure bred Pekin, the mother a Khaki campbell. I thought from the coloring 3 were male, but they are all making quacking noises like a female. Is there any chance that the coloring is just from being a mixed breed and there are female with male looking color?

Did only one duckling have facial stripes? If so, it looks like you have two dusky females with bibs, one wild type female, and one dusky male. Khaki Campbell’s are dusky with brown. Your Pekin must have been heterozygous for dusky (it is a recessive trait), but he probably did not carry brown. They will look like dark Campbell’s or google Dusky Hookbill duck for a similar color.
