This is why I thought it might be a black runner, it's stance is upright a lot of the time.

Where did you get your duckling from? I think it looks like a Runner. The body is more elongated from tail to head in the video and definitely from the stance in your picture. I've noticed over the years that a lot of the Hatchery quality runners aren't as long/lean and don't always stand as upright as often like breeder/show quality.

We got it from our local rural king, not sure which hatchery they use here.

Yep definitely a runner! Hatchery quality, but a runner since hatcheries don't do mixes.

No, this is our first duck, we currently only have chickens but I'm sure we will end up with more

If you can, I would get it a pal sooner rather than later. It's always best to have a pair or more when it comes to ducks.
