I have two buff orpingtons-one of which started making an odd sound on top of the chicken coop this morning. It didn't exactly sound like a rooster crow-more like a chicken in distress.
I ran outside and she was on top of the coop with her head in the air making that sound. She didn't seem distressed or hurt at all.
I'm worried that she's in fact a HE. She does look different than the other chicken but she's only 3 months old. Hopefully not b/c DH is joking about having it for dinner. I've become quite attached to this one and have already name it. I may have a rooster named Daisy.
I'll try to get some better pics in the morning. He/she wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take them. LOL

The other buff is in the background. They do look different.
