male or female?

was wondering if these were male or female theres one black shoulder and one purple

both are spalding , one in front last pic pied male(not blackshoulder) one in back is spalding blackshoulder...don't see a purple

ok cool the lady i got them from told me one was purple and one was black do you think the other is a female? i sure hope so

what does pied mean? sorry dont know much about peafowl except there pretty

Pied is pretty much a peafowl with white splotches on it. You can have regular India blue pieds or purple pieds, ect. No two pieds have the same pattern, all of them have unique white markings that is why I love them.

your look like a dark pied...not alot of white....the spalding blackshoulder could be female....spalding with alot of green the females are darker, give her a few more month, if her back keeps getting more solid color then male....but at this time looks female.......hard for me to sex high % spalding.

Purple is a sex link color so your male could be split purple.
