Male Pekin duck has flown the coop

I have to agree with @sourland. We have a pair of Mallard hens, unlike our larger Rouen/Pekin ducks who are to large to fly. Our Mallard hens who have no trouble flying around the yard, seem to not fly away. I like to think they are happy where they are at and choose not to fly off.

Hi, Welcome to BYC! sounds like a white mallard. There are white mallards that can fly. He may be off searching for a female and return with a brown friend.

If the duck looks thinner than it did before then maybe it's not the same bird. When a bird looses weight its difficult to tell because the feathers will keep their basic outline the same.

I would try to take the duck there ( maybe in a cage) so she can call to him, if she calls, he may come, and take along some attractive snacks, my ducks loved mealworms ( the wriggling alive one) or slugs

Thanks, good point! It just seems to me that it’s my Clyde. He’s been gone almost 3 weeks and definitely not being fed his pellets. I’m just hoping that it’s him, but at this point there’s nothing I can do.
