Hello everyone, though I've been reading your post for a while now, I have just joined the forum.

I have a question about separation of quail, my first quail hatch is 2 females and 3 males, they are 7 weeks old and I started to see evidence of stress, so I separated them last night and noticed right away that one of the males just was not going to have it, I thought that time might calm him, but, just noticed this morning that he is still in a panic...any suggestions?

What type of quail? What is the Male doing?

Most birds will be stressed some by a separation or move.

It might help if the Male that was moved cannot see the other birds. If he is calling constantly.

:welcome to byc

Maybe put one roo with the 2 hens then the other two roos just with eachother. They will still call for a female constantly but at least he will have company and not be so lonely

Thank you for the reply and suggestions, the are Cortunix quail, we built our grow out pens today and moved them to their new home, again separated, and he now seems a little more calm.
