If you go out now and get a female all hell will break loose amongst your drakes. So you have to either leave them all to themselves with no females or get a buncha females, you could be looing around 5 females per drake. Can we see pics of the whole duck body now that we have all admired their drake tails. I love Runners. LOL, you didnt get them from me did you, I usually sell my drakes as 3 to 4 week olds. Please dont say you live in SC

I'll get some pics of their whole body lol! I LOVE them!! I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with them. I don't have enough space for that many ducks!! Gosh.
I got them from a woman I lovingly call my Chicken BFF. She bought hers from Ideal originally and then started laying like crazy and she offered me free eggs....sooo...
They are supposed to be black runners but they're all sorts of colors, as my friend says, "That's hatchery birds for you". I don't mind their coloring - I'm not in it for showing or anything. They're sure fun! Love how they run around, always in a hurry. Oh my, what am I going to do with 4 of them?!

I have a problem with hatching boys too. It doesn't matter if they are chickens or runner ducks. I don't know what the deal is with that. Blessed I suppose

Girls have a very loud quack like the "Aflak" duck on tv. Right now I have 4 boys and 4 girls only because a preditor got 6 ducks over a weeks time. I have no idea if temps have anything to do with it or not. My guess are boys are more hardy then the girls for some reason.

As the provider of the ducks, I have to clarify, I got three blacks from Ideal and then hatched eggs from Evermore Ranch for the mixed colors.

I have a runner sitting on about 16 eggs right now, so I can provide you with some more (hopefully girls)
