I've read that if runner ducks have curly tail feathers, they are drakes. Do these look like all male tails? I have only 5 runner ducks. All of them have a feather or two on the tail with some curl to it. I tried to get some good pics of their tails this morning - they don't like to stand still for pics lol! They are right around 20 wks. No eggs as of yet but I'm not sure when runner ducks begin to lay. What do you think?

a Hen should have "0" curly feathers. Drake ducks should have curly feathers. I will also place bets that if you wait another 20 weeks you will still be waiting on eggs.

Lol...no, I have actually sat watching them thinking how quiet they are! I have thought several times that the woman I got the eggs from must have sensitive hearing because they are not *that* loud.

So funny! This has just been my luck this year. I've hatched an amazing number of males in chickens and ducks apparently too. I'm wondering if this has to do with the incubator temp?? Anyone ever heard of that?
