New to chickens. I think I know the answer, but don't want to admit it. The clack bird is 3 months old, same as the smaller orange one. He's supposed to be an asian blue

My flock of 4 is unsettled and I think this guy is the reason why. Lot's of puffing up and challenges. The small orange one is being bullied a little. He may have to go live elsewhere

I would agree the black is a cockerel and the barred bird is suspect too if it is the same age. It has rather too light coloured barring for a female and the rangy look of a young male as well as too much red in it's head gear for a 3 month pullet.

Thanks all!! I don't think I'll be able to keep the cockerel here in suburbia. Disappointing! I tucked him and the little orange one under the white orpington in September when they were just 3 day old chicks. She was a violent little broody hen! Damn near lost a finger or two while she was sitting on those chicks....definitely lost some skin.

The barred is a two year old. She's molting, I think.
