Mallard Hen or is she Rouen?

I wssn't sure if you were addressing me or the OP. So, I thought I would answer for me. Right now, I'm only dealing with wild or feral birds. Most can fly at least a few feet, but the bulkier ones can't seem to get off the ground.

Hope to get my own poultry some day.

that profile pic of yours is almost identical to my little "mallard" (?) female......except mine has a different coloring on the beak. She flies easily, not labored like my 2 big alleged Rouens that are big, yet they still have the ability to fly moderate distance and strong enough to fly straight UP to navigate the pen fence. Here's another pic of Chicky.... see the similarities? They might be just one generation away from mallard retaining most of the mallard traits but not pure blood mallard...i dunno, I sure can;t explain it !




and shes full grown.....wanting to be bred lately. Worse than a cat in heat....

Aww cute! Well I would say you have a Mallard, not a Rouen! Very cute!

You all have mallards, rouens have a keel which is two large fatty flaps running down their breast that can sometimes drag the floor. Beautiful birds though!
