Mallard vs. Rouen-- The Debate Continues!!!!

My adult Mallard drake isn't nearly that big or bulky as a mature drake, much less a duckling! Even my cross from this spring is half that size as a full duck.

Thanks a lot everyone, I am really relieved that the matter has been cleared and the duck in question has been identified as a rouen. A rouen certainly has a much rosier looking future than a mallard would have here in always sunny Arizona.

Just out of curiosity, why is a Rouen better than a mallard in your area? We have mallards in our deserts. Is it a hunting issue?

I'd be worried about it escaping into my neighbor's yard, he's always hunting quail and probably rabbits as far as I know and I'm sure he wouldn't think twice about pegging a wild duck. A rouen will stay safely sequestered in my back yard.
