Mallards

thanks

i have no idea how old they are as i rescued them
How many do you have? if more than one then I'd give them their own lil area separate from the hens, Chickens can be mean and peck hard, I just witnessed it with one of my bantam hens jumping on my almost 4 week old duckling both feet. boy did I go after her. I just thankful it was one of my bantams and not one of my LF. first time I have seen this though.

We rescued two orphaned Mallards on Mother's Day, they were already about 3 weeks old. We have been letting them free range with the chickens all day and putting them in a coop at night. Pretty sure we have a boy and a girl (one quacks the other doesn't). Today the girl (who is smaller) got out of the fenced yard and we have not seen her all day. Do you think she will come back? I'm surprised she went so far from her friend! They are feathered and old enough to be fine on their own. We have many ponds around here and figured they would leave when ready, but I thought they would go together...... Hoping she is ok!

I have a three week old mallard that is not growing as fast as the others and seems really tired all the time. The others step on him and he does not really quack that much. Can anyone help?
