I've got 2 eggs that pipped on the wrong end if the egg but their beaks are peaking through, chirping and moving but no progress in like 10 hours. I made the mistake of trying to assist and saw tiny red veins so I stopped and there's no bleeding at all. I'm just worried they're stuck or could be getting shrink wrapped. What should I do? It's been a few hours since I tried to assist and I've noticed the blood vessels look smaller now like being more absorbed. Can somebody give me some advice as I don't want to lose these chicks. One of the other eggs already hatched on its own about 5 hours ago and is doing great. The chick has been pecking at one of the eggs with the beak sticking out and the chick inside the egg pecks back at the hatched chick. It does seem to be getting less active though in the egg.

The last chick I hatched was one that a mama walked away from. It seemed to be past the point of hatching, so when I noticed a little pip in the shell, and heard the chick chirping I was so happy! Several hours later, and no more progress, I got anxious and helped. I had NO idea to even look for veins, but she made it out and is a runt, but adorable. I hope it works out positive 🙏

What was the outcome?

What was the outcome?
They all hatched last night and this morning and are doing great. I'm so grateful for all the help and advice. I did have to help them a tiny bit since none of them pipped at the right end of the egg where the airsac was and so they were backwards and struggling but with a tiny bit of help they made their way out. I'm so happy all 4 survived.

so glad to hear this! congrats on the hatch!
what are they?
They are silkie chicks and should be pure white once grown. It's the first time I've raised this type of chicken so I'm excited to see how it goes. I've been told they're super friendly chickens. My 8 year old son is sooo happy and is learning so much.

They are so cute; are they silkies?
Yes they are little silkie chicks and should be pure white as adults. They are so cute and it's my first time having this type of chicken so I've been reading as much as I can about their care. Do you know about what size coop they'll need for 4 silkie chickens and how big the run should be? I have a guy that will be making it for me but I'm trying to figure out what will be best so they're happy chickens. They will be small chickens of course. I can't stop looking at them.
