Congratulations on number 2. By now you are a pro, or at least you know what to look for and what to do. Told you it wasn't that complicated to incubate. Honestly I have to say I never tried an aquarium or self made incubator. I always had a commercially made one. So in some way I've learned a lot too. I'm so delighted about the outcome. Hoped for one or two and it looks like you are getting a hole little flock. Everyone is right when they say it nice to see such a tragic event ending with nice "little outcomes" after all.

This thread makes me so happy! To think, you 'winged' it with no real equipment and the outcome is wonderful! Makes you wonder if a commercial incubator is really necessary to get the job done!

Those little duckies are TOO CUTE! Big brother looks happier already to have some company!! Watching and waiting for the others!!

Just saw your new video. They are soo cute. I've noticed your comment about the hatching time. Please remember to leave the hatchling for 4 hours in the incubator to properly dry off before moving to the brooder. They need that little bit of time. They actually cool off a little bit in the incubator while the moisture evaporates of their little feathers.

Thanks for that reminder! I just kept thinking they needed to be out of the humidity to dry off. I will give the others the extra time. Keep on keeping me straight Kath!!

What years did you work at Andrews in Berlin?

1986. Married a year later my dear husband Paul. We are now married for 23 years. Time goes fast. Don't have kids, but plenty of mutts. 4 lovely dogs. One 13 years old, and one only 5 month. Got a cat we've trapped as a stray on our property. Had her fixed and she turned into the sweetest cat ever. She loves dogs and is a good mouse hunter. After that is quails and ducks. No chicken. We live at over 4000 feet and the cold winters could be an issue with chicken. We run a mail order business from our property in a separate warehouse. Gotta love to go to work. Out of one door into the next one. Shortest commute ever.
