Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

They are aooooo cute
Everyone is in the cave now ‍ But no peeping. Assuming they are resting from traveling.
Baby chicks are stressful!

You may try setting it on low. I tried high setting my first time too at around the same temp and they didn't like that. I set it on low and they're all fine after that. Just keep an eye on them and see how they react.

Took the heat down a notch.

No one is peeping right now, they went in the cave, and are snuggled together.
Resisting the urge to stare at them to make sure nothing happens

Haven't been this nervous since I brought human babies home!

Just put everybody in and no one is heading for the cave
And two fell in the water, is it too big?
I don't want them to get cold

Ambient temp is 70, sunbeam heating pad on high

No one is heading for the food either

It's been 5 minutes and I'm already worried

Looks like a regular waterer not a chics waterer, so yeah maybe too big.
I put marbles even in the chick waterers,
will keep them from drowning or getting too wet walking in it.

They also have a chick nipple waterer but haven't been interested.

Maybe put each of them in there once? That way they'll remember that it was warm over there.

You'll be a lot less nervous with your second batch whenever that is, just like kids.

Kid 1:
"Kid dropped the pacifier on the ground!!!"
"Gotta sterilize it, or throw it away, all those germs will kill her/him!"
Kid 2:
"Kid dropped the pacifier on the ground."
"Wipe it on your shirt."
Kid 3:
"Kid dropped the pacifier on the ground."
