Mama hens chicks have been hatching, well only one is thriving. Two were alive yesterday and doing well, but then one of those two died today sometime. Two also died while hatching ( not sure what happened. ) But I found this one struggling hard just hatched out the egg today and mama hen wasn’t caring for it so now I have it in the broody box. Was this the right thing to do? I’m new to this and so very worried about these chicks. The one that’s with her is doing fantastic with her and eating and drinking.

I don’t know how to help, but here is a great mention! @nuthatched
Thank you so much. I’m just exhausted with this going on , and just want to help as much as i possibly can. I have a brooder set up in my house so i am trying to keep them alive

You might be able to sneak him back in once he's dry, but as long as he's doing well without her, don't worry.
Okay thanks does that mean she wasn’t accepting it ? Or should I just keep him in the brooder

She might not have accepted him bwcause he was weak. Mama hens don't really take care of the chicks besides show them how to eat and drink, you'll have to dip his peak in water to teach him to drink. Egg yolk water with a bit of sugar will perk him up.
