Mamma gave up on eggs too early!

I am fairly sure one is dead and the other is alive. Should I do an eggtopsy?

My worst fear is to open the egg and find out it is alive. That would be the worst thing ever.

I would wait until I can see a marked difference in development before doing an eggtopsy. I would wait 4 days or so and check again.

So wait for the other one to hatch? (If it does) there are only an estimated 5 days until hatch.

The one I think has died has foggy liquid surrounding it and the air cell had become half detched. The embryo is basically just a black blob from what I can see.

If you are afraid of breaking the egg to find a live chick, I would wait at least a day or two to see if there is any change. I you saw movement yesterday (right?) it shouldn't go bad in that amount of time.

I didn’t see movement yesterday tho
I do think it died yesterday when it got too cold though.

Yea, good thinking. I think I will wait for a while. I really don’t want to kill the baby.

Has the power come back on? we had some chicks in the incubator during Harvey and the power went out. We wrapped the incubator in towels but in the morning all of them were cold. None of them survived.
